Note:

1. After you run the setup program, please plug ePass1000 token to the USB port to see if this device driver has been properly installed. You may input "F" in the editor tool in the SDK to see if ePass1000 could be found. Then reboot your computer, otherwise if you plug ePass1000 to the USB port when logon the driver may not work properly, so you can not logon with ePass1000 token.

2. FTGina only supports win2000 and win XP.

3. FTGina and ePass1000 run-time library install the same driver, if you have installed ePass1000 run-time library, you do not need to install FTGina driver.

4. You need to input PIN code when logon with ePass1000 token. If the PIN code has been blocked and you can not logon with ePass1000 token. Then please unblock PIN code.

5. When you logon with ePass1000 for the first time, you must first add one local logon account or one logon account in the domain to this token with account administration function since there is no logon account in the token. To add a logon account to ePass1000 token you must have the ePass1000 SO-PIN.

6. ftgina.dll is in use when you uninstall FTGINA, so you need to reboot your computer after uninstallation to completely remove FTGINA components.

System recovery

When you select to logon with ePass1000 hardware only, and if ePass token is lost or damaged you cannot log in the protected system any longer. If the ePass SO-PIN is lost you can not add or modify the logon account any longer. You may recover your system in one of the following ways:

1. Press F8 to enter the boot menu when the system is booting, select safe mode to boot your computer. Then in regedit delete character string GinaDLL (its value is FTGina.dll) under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, and then you may use your original system logon mode.

2. Boot your computer with boot disk or another system on your local disk, then cover file ftgina.dll under WINNT\SYSTEM32 with msgina.dll.

3. If you have backuped all the files under system32\config\ before the installation, boot your computer with boot disk or another system on your local disk, then use the backuped files to cover all the files under system32\config\.
